This part of the site deals with philosophy, science, and reason. Some topics address pressing moral issues, while some are more like poems - emotional reflections on things like nature; while others give an intellectual observation on often misunderstood or unclear concepts. Most of the contents is not actually in the form of "essays" - but could be described more accurately as vignettes - sketches that are brief and to the point.
In the area of philosophy, there happen to be 2 terms that come to mind - rationalism and empiricism. Rationalism emphasizes logic and reason; empiricism relies only upon sensory experience. But, as with many so-called "opposing" concepts, they really go hand-in-hand: without reason, philosophy wouldn't exist; and without sensory experience, what would there be to philosophize about?
